Anvil Employee Profile: Kari Schroeder

by Anvil on March 10, 2020Advertising

Meet Kari. She is our paid media specialist rockstar. She came to Anvil with an extensive background in the digital marketing world, finally landing on paid media. Since starting here, she has expanded her skills and taken on true leadership with our team. She loves delighting and elevating our clients during calls by providing actionable insights to and recommendations for their media strategies. We pulled her away from the digital space to ask her a few questions about her start in digital media and what she’s learned so far at Anvil.

Why did you choose a career in digital marketing?

KS: I didn’t, it chose me. I originally got a job in a part-time marketing role that got me out of retail at that point and I was finishing up school. Eventually, as I transitioned into a full-time role and finished school, the job evolved into working more on the digital side of things. This led to having my hands in all areas of the digital marketing world from email, to paid, to landing page building, to some SEO, etc. Eventually, I settled into the paid side as a full-time role and, as that happened, it became a passion for me.

What originally attracted you to Anvil?

KS: There were a lot of things, but I think the things that stood out most were their culture and the community involvement. I applied for the job not knowing a lot about the company but once I got an interview, I really took a hard look at the website and what they were about and was definitely sold.

What is the favorite part of your job at Anvil?

KS: The amazing people I work with and the ability to work with clients across many different industries and verticals. It keeps things interesting and you don’t feel like it’s the same thing all the time, so it never gets old.

Who is your favorite Anvil client and why?

KS: I think my favorite Anvil Client is First Tech Federal. It’s a big account that takes a lot of time, but it’s a fun account to work on and the team on their side is great to work with as well.

What do you feel is your greatest accomplishment to date at Anvil and why?

KS: Finding new ways to make our customers happy by adding things to reports that weren’t previously included.

What digital marketing influencers, blogs, podcasts, or publications do you find most informative for your career?

KS: Definitely Wordstream and Moz for blogs. Wordstream is always good about being on top of anything new, best practices, and what works and doesn’t, in the paid media world. Moz covers both paid and SEO and is essential in keeping current and up to date. There are so many out there but those are my initial go-to blogs.

Kari is a double threat, with her creative and analytical thinking that has helped grow and retain our client relationships. We appreciate her dedication and her skillset that she brings to us every day. Keep reading our blog for more employee profiles from our team at Anvil Media Inc.
