Over the past two years, Anvil set out to develop an affordable, insightful and consistent benchmark for clients looking to understand the efficacy of their online presence. After a good deal of refinement based on feedback, we ended up with our own intellectual property, now known as the Anvil Marketing Index™. To meet the needs of companies of all sizes and stage of business, we created two levels of Anvil Marketing Index™:
Anvil Marketing Index™ Scorecard
The Anvil Marketing Index™ Scorecard measures and scores 100 different critical marketing criteria, grouped in five important topical areas: Brand Impact, Website Performance, Search, Paid Media and Social Media. These areas are analyzed by Anvil Strategists from each field of expertise, and the data are assessed both in relation to the historical performance of the brand against competitors, industry, and other internal Anvil benchmarks. The Scorecard is ideal for evaluating the efficacy of internal or external marketing teams. Each of the 100 measurement points is an independent evaluation of an individual attribute of the brand’s marketing and results in prioritized recommendations to improve your brand’s overall digital presence. Ideally, this benchmark is meant to be updated regularly, to evaluate progress and act as the foundation for quarterly strategic planning sessions.
Anvil Marketing Index™ Snapshot
The Anvil Marketing Index™ Snapshot is a lighter version of the Scorecard and is designed for smaller companies or startups with limited resources looking for a marketing roadmap. The Snapshot measures and scores 25 different critical marketing measurement elements (a subset of the Scorecard elements) grouped in the same five important topical areas: Brand Impact, Website Performance, Search, Paid Media and Social Media. Unlike the Scorecard, which is designed as a report card and quarterly trending and benchmarking tool, the Snapshot is ideal for smaller companies looking to grow. The Snapshot provides overall strategic direction as well as prioritized and detailed recommendations that you can implement yourself. Of course, Anvil is always available to support implementation or management as-needed.
