The Dreaded “No Referrer”

But wait a minute, what’s that one that always seem to provide a majority of your referrals and is so ambiguously named “no referrer”? What does “no referrer” mean anyway? That the visitor wasn’t directly referred by another website or link. Not necessarily that it wasn’t referred by a website or a person or an advertisement. For example, if you see an ad for a website today at work, click on that ad, see something you want to purchase, and then go home later tonight and finally make your purchase, you will be among the illusive “no referrers”. Technically, you were referred by an ad…or, wait, maybe not technically…
