by Kent Lewis on October 16, 2009NewspaperMost newspapers use Twitter – if you are a newspaper and not on Twitter, your days are numbered anyway – and so for Follow Friday, Anvil reviewed some of the top newspaper Twitter accounts ( graphicdesigner has a comprehensive and frequently updated list)
Top Ten by Followers
The New York Times (@nytimes, @nytimesbusiness, @nytimesnational, @nytimesscience, @nytimesstyle)
USA Today (@popcandy)
Wallstreet Journal (@wsj)
Washington Post (@thefix)
Austin-American Statesman (@statesman)

Oregonian (@oregonian)
Portland Tribune (@theportlandtrib)
Willamette Week (@wweek)
Daily Barometer (OSU Newspaper) (@baronews)
Oregon Daily Emerald (Phil Knight’s Newspaper) (@dailyemerald)
Most of the above newspapers use Twitter as a way to broadcast articles found on the newspapers’ online versions, but Colonel Tribune does an excellent job of providing commentary and personality in its posts. Everyone knows the newspapers are suffering, and so help boost their ego a bit by following them on Twitter.
