by Kent Lewis on October 20, 2005Search Engine OptimizationTheories from an Internet Marketing specialist about the kinds of sites that Google “allows” into its top 10 search engine results. Among the kinds of sites that are hypothesized to appear most frequently for keyword searches: .edu sites, .gov sites, pages that are at least two years old, and subpages from huge sites (e.g. Amazon). We do see these types of sites appearing quite often in top search engine results (see original post for full list), however there is never anything so definite when Google is involved. Anvil has helped clients to achieve placements in the top ten with new pages that are well optimized and contain relevant content. This is an interesting list to keep in mind, however, especially as you are performing your own searches.
