Facebook Launches New Filtering Options
by Anvil on December 22, 2010Social Media MarketingAs Facebook friend lists grow and updates become more frequent, many Facebook users have found that the Top News and Recent News filter options don’t fit their needs anymore. As a result, Facebook has started to roll out new filtering options to let users customize their feed more to their liking.
Some of the new options include filtering for Photos only (giving it an Instagram feel), and Games only (in case you want to see how all your Farmville buddies are doing). There is also a filter that lets you see only stories and updates from a specific List that you have created, so you can now see just the updates from your coworkers or family, for example.
These filters are rolling out to users gradually but definitely provide a more user-friendly experience, particularly for non-power-users who log in only to be bombarded with a backlog of status updates and photos to navigate through.
How will you use these filters? Are there any additional ones that you’d find especially useful?
