Yahoo! To Join MSN and Google in Supporting NOODP Tag
by Kent Lewis on October 12, 2006UncategorizedTim Mayer of Yahoo announced they will be following suit with the NOODP tag, which gives users the option to opt out of having the Open Directory description listed for their sites, instead of their own meta descriptions.
Mayer was also asked if they would provide an opt out tag for the Yahoo Directory description, but he said there wasn’t any plan to do that right now.
Yahoo recognizes the following META tags on web pages:
META NAME=”ROBOTS” CONTENT=”NOODP”
or
META NAME=”Slurp” CONTENT=”NOODP”
