I just saw an article on Gmail vs. Hotmail vs. Yahoo! Mail, which asks “What year is it again? Are we back in 1997?” When it comes to the renewed battle in free email, it seems like 1997 all over again. And with the renewed feature of related searches being shown alongside actual searches, I feel like time travel is happening once more. Didn’t we already have that feature years ago on AltaVista, among other engines? And why couldn’t Yahoo have rolled out this feature with their new database? This makes me wonder what other breadcrumbs the product marketing group at Yahoo will roll out this year? Your guess is as good as mine.
