Traditional Web sites generally try to keep everything above the fold so users don’t have to scroll and the majority of the content is in front of you, along with the ad space, while blogs follow a completely different model. Blog readers don’t generally click as much as a regular Web site due to a blog’s structure, but they scroll much more. Blogs have allowed for much more user activity below the fold, which opens the door for advertisers. Since blog content is more vertical in nature, it allows for much more advertising than a traditional Web site along the left or right rails.
