With Google Desktop a user can search for files across multiple computers, meaning you can use your laptop to search for content on your desktop or any other computer that has v3 installed on it. Google Desktop indexes all files on the user’s hard drives and sends copies to Google where it is kept on Google’s files for 30 days and then will be deleted if it hasn’t been accessed.
