MSN Starts Gaining on Google
by Kent Lewis on March 28, 2005UncategorizedAfter spending a reported $150 million on marketing efforts around the launching its new search engine, Microsoft’s share of the internet search market has started to surge, growing to 14.2 percent from 12.8 percent, according to an AdWeek report on new Nielsen/NetRatings figures. The growth appears to have come from Google’s dominant share, which shrunk from 47.1 percent to 45.9 percent. Yahoo’s share was largely unchanged. This report contrasts to comScore figures that show MSN’s search share roughly steady at 16 percent.
