Community Chooses The Pongo Fund in Anvil’s Charity of Choice
by Anvil on April 29, 2016Charity of ChoiceAnvil has the Portland community help us choose which local, non-profit will receive pro bono marketing services from us through our quarterly Charity of Choice. Our team chooses the organizations that we put in a poll administered through Facebook, and the one with the most votes wins $2500 of services. We recently completed our online poll for our Q2 charity, and The Pongo Fund came out on top! Our team is looking forward to helping them further achieve their mission of providing meals to the animals of the homeless or needy. It helps give families hope if the dog and cat are able to get a meal that doesn’t take away from what the family has to eat. The other participating charities this quarter included The Cole Parker Foundation, The Human Access Project, Pacific Pug Rescue, and The Joy Team.
Anvil used to provide monetary donations to our organizations but have switched to providing marketing services to help really make an impact and help the charities be successful with their endeavors. Past winners have included The Oregon Humane Society, Mercy Corps Northwest, The Feral Cat Coalition, and Blue Mountain Wildlife among others. Additionally, the team volunteers twice each year at different organizations in the community. Giving back has been important to the President & Founder Kent Lewis in the 16 years Anvil has been in business, and he’s proud to have a team of people that like to contribute as well. You can learn more about it on our community outreach page.
If you are interested in nominating a nonprofit, send an email to Shannon and she’ll be sure to make sure you are considered in future Charity of Choice polls!
