Just in case you haven’t heard yet Google created this review service that allows you to review businesses and then share your reviews and recommendations with friends – Hotpot (I know, it seems like it is missing an “s”, but you read it right the first time). They then created a Google Places App for your phone that allows you to leave reviews that tie into your Hotpot account. Oh and in case you’re wondering what happens to all these reviews people can now leave with a click of a button – they get added to Google Places listings of course!

That’s not all though – the newest Hotpot evolution – friends reviews in your search results. Now when you do a search while you’re signed into Hotpot your friend’s reviews of places now show in local search results. It will be interesting to see where Google takes Hotpot next – maybe your phone will sound an alarm if you get too close to a restaurant your best friend hates?
