Anvil Media Donates To Mercy Corps To Help Hungry Families In Africa’s Horn

Anvil Media Donates To Mercy Corps To Help Hungry Families In Africa’s Horn

PORTLAND, Ore. (October 10, 2011) – Anvil Media, Inc., a search engine marketing (SEM) and social media marketing (SMM) services agency, announced today that it will be donating $2,500 to Mercy Corps fight against hunger in Africa’s horn.

“While Anvil regularly supports local charities with our time, via our Charity of Choice annual campaign, we felt we could do more,” stated Kent Lewis, Anvil Media President. “We decided to add a cash contribution element earlier this year with the Oregon Humane Society as our inaugural recipient. We are proud to continue this new tradition with a contribution to Mercy Corps.”

Somalia, noted as the “world’s worst humanitarian disaster” by the United Nations, has more than 12 million people at risk of starvation. The Horn of Africa is severely in need of help due to its draught and the Anvil team felt a donation was the least that could be done to try and bring relief to the country.
“Our hearts go out to the people in Africa’s Horn,” added Lewis. “The team’s choice to give the company donation to Mercy Corps to help with this cause was an easy one.”

Anvil plans to continue its commitment to the community by offering pro bono services, volunteering time outside of work and making charitable donations to those in need.
