Anvil Merges with Formic Media to Better Delight and Elevate Clients

PORTLAND, Ore. (Dec,  9, 2013) – Anvil Media, Inc., an integrated marketing agency specializing in search engine marketing, social media marketing and analytics, is pleased to announce its merger with sister agency, Formic Media, Inc.  The merger will officially take place on Jan. 1, 2014 and will immediately provide a larger account team and more seasoned executive team.

The addition of key executive team members from Formic will allow Anvil to delight and elevate clients better than ever before.  John McPhee, Vice President of Digital Services, brings five years of previous Anvil experience in addition to over three years of sales and management experience leading Formic. Anna Hutson, Director of Account Services, brings five years of experience with Formic to the Anvil team. The Anvil and Formic teams have shared a building the past four years, giving the Formic team a deep familiarity with the Anvil culture, processes and standards of excellence.

“While the agencies were initially created with different purposes, they began to evolve and paths converged over the past year or so.  After months of planning and analysis, we determined a merger was the best path forward for success for all involved,” said Kent Lewis, President and Founder of Anvil Media and Formic Media. “We will gain significant efficiencies across the board, leveraging a combined executive, marketing, sales and operations infrastructure.”

Anvil continues to create momentum from the recent evolution from search engine marketing to integrated marketing agency. Several new clients have come on board in recent weeks, including Aviator Club, Colorado State University, Mindtree and RoboShields.  Anvil also expanded relationships with current and former clients including Dr. Martens and Right Management.

“The combined entity will provide clients with access to additional account support and integrated marketing services, which is a win-win situation for everyone,” said John McPhee, Vice President of Digital Services at Anvil Media.  “I look forward to the opportunity to lead and develop the account team and core digital marketing services at Anvil.”

Anvil also recently added new team members to round out its marketing team and expertise.  Michael Knight joined the team as Paid Search Specialist.  Knight brings 3 years of experience managing large and complex paid search accounts to Anvil.
