Goal
In January 2022, Anvil Media and Inspire Fitness decided to redistribute a significant amount of media spend on the lesser utilized platform of Pinterest. The team was looking at January as a beta month and set goals of a 2:1 Return on Ad Spend and maintaining platform average Click-Through Rates.
Strategy
Anvil spent the last few months of 2021 internally familiarizing their team on the Pinterest platform. Inspire Fitness’ campaign was Anvil’s first significant (over $2K per month) dive into Pinterest. The team decided to run similar promoted pins alongside each other—one single image and one video. While a lot was learned in the process, the results after one month at this level of spend far outperformed expectations.
Results
Even though it was considered a beta month, Anvil was able to achieve the following results in their first significant Pinterest campaign:
- An 11.77 to 1 Return on Ad Spend—1,699% higher than the preset benchmark
- A Click Through Rate on the promoted video 285% above Pinterest’s average
- A Click Through Rate on the single image ad 225% above Pinterest’s average
