Anvil Employee Profile: Meg Riley

Meet Meg. She’s our newest Account Executive, with an agency background in multimedia and SEO. She brings with her an extensive writing background that has expanded our company’s empathy and communication skills to better assist our clients. We asked her a few questions about her start at Anvil and in the digital marketing industry.

Why did you choose a career in digital marketing?

MR: Honestly, I didn’t. It found me. I went to PSU and earned a degree in English Literature with a specialty in Publishing. When you specialize in Publishing, you have to take business and marketing courses to understand how to sell books. I enjoyed learning about marketing and digital marketing in particular.

What originally attracted you to Anvil?

MR: I was working at another agency that was focused on advertising for one vertical and I was ready to move on to a digital agency that helped companies in several different verticals, to expand my knowledge and passion. So, I went online and searched “best digital marketing agencies in Portland,” and found Anvil. And Google didn’t let me down.

What is the favorite part of your job at Anvil?

MR: Helping my clients. I love finding new opportunities for them and adjusting their strategy to improve their results online. It’s satisfying to show my clients measurable results from our efforts and making their day.

Who is your favorite Anvil client and why?

MR: Am I allowed to have a favorite? All my clients are my favorite, of course! But, if I had to choose just one I’d say that right now my favorite client is Willis Klein. I have a great relationship with their team, who are all so warm and kind. Our calls always go very well.

What do you feel is your greatest accomplishment to date at Anvil and why?

MR: I’m new to Anvil, so I don’t feel accomplished here yet. But, I’ve had a few wins with clients and the team that earned me some shout-outs.

What digital marketing influencers, blogs, podcasts, or publications do you find most informative for your career?

MR: I like to read blogs from Content Marketing Institute, Search Engine Journal, and Media Post, and we have a weekly meeting here at Anvil to discuss what’s new in marketing. All of these are really insightful.

We appreciate Meg for taking a few minutes to answer our questions. With a drive and passion for creative strategy, she’s helped our clients’ accounts reach new heights. Keep reading our blog for more industry information and news about Anvil Media Inc.
