Anvil Employee Profile: Daniel

Meet Dan. Daniel is our SEO specialist and all-around rockstar. As a professional internet hustler, Daniel has been responsible for acquiring large networks of websites, visualizing big data, and developing web/mobile applications. Daniel’s strengths are identifying new opportunities to manage digital reputation and drive agenda across various mediums. Strengthening our capacity to amplify narratives is the direction that fuels his interests. He took some time to tell us his thoughts about working for Anvil!

Why did you choose a career in digital marketing?

DS: As a professional internet freelancer, I’ve worked with hundreds of different organizations and wore many different hats, such as: Digital marketing, Programming, Data Analysis, and Sales. After college, I created a network of online gaming forums that reached 8M MAUs which allowed my startup to acquire Venture Capital and a subsequent merger with a larger organization. During 2016-2019, I became one of the top 5 Augmented Reality developers on Upwork. I’ve also dabbled in machine learning, mostly coupled with computer vision, but a future goal is to feed SEO data to ML models and see if we can spot patterns that nobody else has.

What originally attracted you to Anvil?

DS: I originally applied in 2016, but was not selected to interview. Around 2019, Daniel was recruited by Mike Terry.

What is the favorite part of your job at Anvil?

DS: My favorite part of this job is the flexibility to create strategies that will enhance our clients’ digital marketing efforts.

Who is your favorite Anvil client and why?

DS: My favorite client at Anvil is Coastal, because they have a clear vision of their customer base and are always open to try new methods to enhance their offerings.

What do you feel is your greatest accomplishment to-date at Anvil and why?

DS: My greatest accomplishment at Anvil is increasing our organic search impressions by 300,000 users in the past 4 months. I have also created new service offerings that analyzes two years’ worth of competitor traffic, 30 days of competitor dimensions, Geodemographics, and SERP schema implementations.

What digital marketing influencers, blogs, podcasts, or publications do you find most informative for your career?

DS: Search Engine Land is one of the websites where I find the most informative marketing articles.
