Anvil Employee Profile: Danny Truong

Meet Danny. He started out as an intern for Anvil and has quickly progressed to become our newest paid media specialist. He has a rich professional background in sales and marketing, where he has developed a keen understanding of the customer journey to deliver insight to our clients. His technical and media skills continue to grow as he builds our brand and our team. We stole a few minutes of his time from creative to answer our questions about how he discovered his passion for digital marketing and Anvil Media.

Why did you choose a career in digital marketing?

DT: Initially, I didn’t think I was going into digital marketing. I was looking more into experiential marketing, but after taking an introduction to digital marketing class at PSU. It piqued my interest to look more into the digital landscape. When looking at the digital marketing field, I saw that it is a continually growing field with a ton of opportunity for growth. I wanted to get into a field that I can continually learn from and, with a growing field like digital, I come out of work learning something new every day.

 

What originally attracted you to Anvil?

DT: Anvil wasn’t on my radar when I graduated from college but my friend, who at the time was interning at Anvil, reached out to me to apply for the internship position as she was about to leave. After doing some research about the company before my interview, I was very impressed with the commitment that Anvil has to educate their employees and the community about marketing.

 

What is the favorite part of your job at Anvil?

DT: Seeing the results of the campaigns that I contributed to is pretty satisfying. It gives me a sense of accomplishment that I haven’t had in a job in a long time.

 

Who is your favorite Anvil client and why?

DT: Fair Trade Certified, by far, is my favorite client as I’ve been buying fair trade products for a while now. So, working with this client helps me build a further relationship with their brand and reminds me that I’m buying from a company that I believe in.

 

What do you feel is your greatest accomplishment to date at Anvil and why?

DT: So far, I think my greatest accomplishment here at Anvil is being a sponge for information. Working my way from being an intern to now being a full-time team member for Anvil is damn accomplishing. When I started, I only had a basic understanding of what digital marketing was and what working in an agency would be like. Now I really feel like a part of the team.

 

What digital marketing influencers, blogs, podcasts, or publications do you find most informative for your career?

DT: Wordstream has a great blog that keeps me up to date with the latest in digital marketing.
