Anvil Employee Profile: Mike Terry

Meet Mike Terry. He is the VP at Anvil and helped make the company what it is today. He drives the business development, recruiting, and integrated marketing efforts of the agency. He has a vast background in the digital world of SEO, SEM, and Analytics that he uses to expand our talent and client relationships. We wanted to take advantage of his industry knowledge and ask him a few questions about his start in digital marketing and Anvil Media Inc.

Why did you choose a career in digital marketing?

MT: I started working in marketing before there was such a thing as digital marketing. I started working in website development and email in 1999 and after Y2K, when people no longer feared the world wide web and it was accepted.

What originally attracted you to Anvil?

MT: Kent called me up and asked me if I would join his company. I haven’t looked back since.

What is the favorite part of your job at Anvil?

MT: Solving client problems and having fun at work.

Who is your favorite Anvil client and why?

MT: Inspire Fitness is my favorite client because I have known our client contact for over 12 years and she is great to work with.

What do you feel is your greatest accomplishment to date at Anvil and why?

MT: In 2013, when I came onboard, Kent allowed me to create a new logo and website for the company. I believe they have been valuable assets that have allowed us to succeed.

What digital marketing influencers, blogs, podcasts, or publications do you find most informative for your career?

MT: I follow a lot of interesting marketing people on Twitter, read Mashable frequently to keep up on digital trends and pop culture, and Fast Company is always a great read.
