At Anvil, we strive to support our local community by offering pro bono services, volunteering outside of work, and contributing donations to organizations in need. Each quarter Anvil selects one local organization as its Charity of Choice to receive a $1,000 cash donation. As we approach a new quarter, it’s that time again to help Anvil choose their Charity of Choice.
Below are five nominees chosen by our employees that need your help. Check out the stories of these organizations and then head over to Anvil’s Facebook page where you can vote for your favorite charity and help spread the word.
Blue Mountain Wildlife
Blue Mountain Wildlife is a volunteer nonprofit organization that aids orphaned, sick or injured wildlife (primarily birds of prey), by providing the treatment and care necessary to return them to their natural habitat. Their mission is to provide rehabilitation services to native wildlife in need of care, and increase awareness through educational programs that feature non-releasable, live raptors.

{LOG} CAMP
{Log} Camp is a nonprofit technology vocational training program for Oregon youth. The organization strives to get youth more involved in technology by providing computer programming education and youth mentoring services to promote economic opportunity for low income, minority students in Portland, OR. Their goal is to greatly increase the individual economic opportunity for these students by helping them realize their full potential through software programming and computer skills training.

Ecotrust
Ecotrust is a conservation organization working to create economic opportunity, social equity and environmental well being. By working with local communities along the west coast through initiatives, they create a natural model of development that creates more resilient communities, economies, and ecosystems here in the North West and all around the world.

Operation Pitch Invasion
Operation Pitch Invasion is a local, grass-roots charity formed to build, revitalize and maintain soccer fields throughout the Portland Metro area so that players of all ages and skill levels have high quality and safe playing surfaces to enjoy the beautiful game. Funding helps restore fields in the community and provides an opportunity for kids to be more active and play soccer.

p:ear
p:ear (acronym for project: education, art, recreation) works with homeless and transitional youth to provides programs, workshops and services that use education, arts and recreation as vehicles for building self-esteem and fostering positive change. With help from volunteers and the community, p:ear empowers young people to establish a more positive identity that includes viewing themselves as valuable and worthy human beings capable of growth, change and challenge.
