Throw Some Shades On It, Twitter Stickers Are Here!

Twitter

About a month ago, Twitter unveiled their new “Stickers” feature which allows users to add emoji type stickers to tweets composed on mobile and desktop devices (note that you can currently only add stickers to your images using the Twitter mobile app, not the website.) What’s even cooler about these stickers is that not only do they pulsate encouraging a user to click on the sticker, they pull a search of all of the other tweets out there with the same sticker, just like a hashtag. The official announcement from Twitter states that, “After you Tweet a photo with stickers on it, your photo becomes searchable in a new, visual spin on the hashtag. Tapping on a sticker in a Tweet takes you to a new timeline, where you can see how people all over the world use that sticker in different ways.”

Twitter Sticker Early Results

Twitter has been rolling this feature out over the last few weeks. I just received a notification about it last night myself and have only posted one tweet using the feature, but based off of the engagement I got on that one tweet alone, I can see the benefits of Twitter Stickers for marketers. Last night I posted this picture from a recent zoo trip, a cute photo on its own but not the most engaging thing I’ve ever come up with:

But check out these stats, that’s a 49.3% engagement rate!

As I mentioned, we have only just begun testing this feature but so far the results are pretty impressive. I imagine engagement will dip some once the newness of the feature wears off but if you aren’t using it already, now is the time to boost those engagement stats so get on it! Look for a killer #TBT post from @jesheburch later this week in my next Twitter Sticker attempt. Have you used Twitter Stickers yet? Can you say, “branded stickers?”
