Search Engine Results Continuing to Diverge

According to a new study by Dogpile and researchers from the University of Pittsburgh and Penn State University, search results are overlapping less between the different engines and are providing more unique results. The study denotes that 84.9% of first page of organic results are unique to one engine and 11.4% of first page results were shared by any two engines. Furthermore Ask Jeeves had the most unique first page results compared to Yahoo (71.2%), MSN (70.8%), and Google (66.4%).
