I have to admit that my first “glass” of wine was from a bottle of Boones Farm (Fan Club), which may lead you to think I’m not qualified to write this post. But stay with me, as I have to tell you where I started and where I’ve ended up today. I purchased the bottle from Safeway using my shiny new fake ID my freshman year of college. I can still remember my friends and I debating which “flavor” we were going to buy, which sounded more like a debate about LifeSaver flavors. Should we get Wild Cherry or Apple Blossom? I have to laugh when I say “glass” because it was more of a swig as we nervously passed the bottle around in my dorm room.
Fast forwarding 16 years (OMG! I am getting old!), and I’m now drinking real wine out of real glasses! Not being a native Oregonian, it took me awhile to truly grasp what an honor it is to live near so many wonderful wineries. I can go wine tasting as close as 10 miles away from my house and have access to 40+ wineries near my house. Having only been exposed mainly to Willamette Valley wines, my horizons broadened last April when I was asked by the Oregon Wine Board to give a workshop on Search Engine Marketing to a group of Southern Oregon wineries. It is there that I added Tempranillo into my wine mix, as well as experiencing the wonderful Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Viognier they produce.
I’ve listed Oregon Wineries that are on Twitter, in hopes that you will follow and become fans of some of the greatest wine in the world. Some Twitter profiles have been built out with complete bios, links back to their site, beautiful backgrounds, regular tweets, and interactive tweets between Twitter accounts.
