Anvil Employee Profile: Lance Boyle

Anvil is happy to introduce our newest Digital Marketing Strategist, Lance Boyle! He is a proud alumni of Tallahassee Community College with an associates degree in general education where he discovered his passion for all things aquatic.

Why did you choose a career in digital marketing?

Well, ever since I was cruising chat rooms on AOL, I just knew I had a gift for digital marketing. Whether it was dabbling on MySpace, looking up massage parlors in Yahoo! or making my own videos – I just have that innate ability to curate and distribute interesting content.

What are your strengths? What areas of digital marketing are your favorite?

I’m really strong in squat thrusts. I can do over 250 lbs. and not even break a sweat. Viral videos of all types as well as NSFW videos and pics – it’s just a gift I have. My mom always told me to let my freak flag fly. My favorite parts of digital marketing are the DMs, talking to strangers and getting to know what makes them tick or creeps them out. I learned what ‘ghosting’ was sliding into people’s DMs, but it’s still my favorite.

What attracted you to Anvil?

Growing up I was always a fan of Wile E. Coyote and those hilarious Looney Tunes cartoons. Anyway, he always tried to get that bird thing and crush him with an anvil and I thought, that thing looks cool. So I hammered out my first love letter using an anvil and when the position opened up, I applied. After some compromising photos of the hiring manager were discovered online, I got the job!

What about your role most excites you?

That fact that I get paid to chat with people and send DMs for a living – it’s truly amazing! Sure, there’s the occasional restraining order or civil suit but that just comes with the territory. It’s always exciting when Lance Boyle is live streaming!

What digital marketing influencers, blogs, podcasts or publications do you find most informative for your career?

The Onion is really the most informative place for real and relevant digital content that has influenced my career. The news I read there is like no other and their interviews and quotes influence how I create infographics and share information on client websites.
