Case Study: Planar Systems SEO
Overview
Planar Systems is a worldwide leader in flat panel LCD and plasma
display systems. Planar's corporate Web site had never been properly
optimized and lacked visibility for targeted search phrases. Anvil
provided site optimization recommendations to enhance their visibility
in relevant search results.
Objective
Planar's primary goal was improve organic search visibility for
two specific product groups of Planar - Retail and Touchscreen flat
panel display systems.
Challenge
While Anvil has successfully managed pay-per-click (PPC) efforts
for the past two years, a select group of targeted keywords has
proven to be too costly to purchase due to industry competition.
In addition, the Web site created optimization challenges from a
design, content and code perspective.
Strategy
Anvil leveraged years of PPC experience to effectively target performing
keywords and phrases during the optimization process to develop
a site optimization strategy. The project involved developing optimized
title, META and ALT tags for all top target pages.
Results
One month after initial site optimization recommendations were implemented,
Planar's Web site increased in search visibility across targeted
keywords (i.e. retail display) by 90%. In addition, top 10 rankings
increased by 84% and top 30 rankings increased by 116% for the same
period.
