Search Engines are looking to expand their impression beyond web pages and targeting mobile devices to provide specific search results. Search Engines are looking to provide users with the facility to search from mobiles and emerging application: this is clearly an effort to reach beyond web pages! Famous Search Engines like Google Inc. and Yahoo Inc. and Microsoft’s MSN search engines are sounding together to make that happen in near future. Ask Jeeves and America Online Inc. are preparing to provide mobile based search results in the second quarter and in April, respectively. It is clear that these Search Engines want to return more specific results from mobile devices! This advanced new service will be called “mobile smart answers.” It clearly refers to a Ask Jeeves Web search feature that highlights structured results such as movie times and weather. These search results are provided in a box above traditional search results. Ask Jeeves had begun to offer these smart answers in late 2002 and has grown its categories to around two dozen. Google Inc. and Yahoo Inc. have already increased their mobile search offerings in recent months: Yahoo offers mobile browser and SMS features and Google has focused only on sending queries and targeted results through SMS.
